Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting members of the Seminole Tribe of Florida to establish new credit lines, increase their credit scores and regain, when necessary a "credit worthy" status. The individual advises and assists Tribal Members to adopt more responsible credit habits and formulating plans to reduce debts and building assets. The individual serves as a liaison between clients and credit bureaus, reviewing credit reports and preparing and submitting necessary paperwork for credit disputes. The incumbent addresses Tribal Member's questions about credit accounts, disputes, processes, and file status. This position reports to the Housing Loan Manager or designee and is an exempt position. Associate's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Public Administration or related field is required. Bachelor's degree is preferred. A minimum of two (2) years of experience working in credit recovery, collection, loss mitigation within a mortgage banking or related financial institution is required. An equivalent combination of education/training and experience will be considered. Knowledge and understating of the Fair Credit Reporting Act is required. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License is required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Ability to travel to all reservations, and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
