Accounts Payable Supervisor - Operations Center

Associates Degree (A.A.) in Accounting or related business field and 3-5 years of experience with high volume accounts payable required. One year of supervisory experience required.
Experience must include 1099 reporting, monthly accrual tracking, general ledger coding, payment/vendor research, reconciling of general ledger activity, requisition, purchase orders (PO), receiving and inventory management. Knowledge of purchasing and accounts payable concepts and procedures. An understanding of accrual vs. cash accounting. Understanding of automated accounts payable, fixed asset applications, capitalization, depreciation and disposition of fixed assets and prepaids.
Strong skills in MS Excel (managing spreadsheets and using advanced formulas). Detail oriented with the ability to validate accuracy in the work of others. Ability to lead and supervise a team. Ability to manage multiple assignments and projects while meeting established requirements and deadlines. Ability to prioritize own work as well as the workload of the team. Ability to develop and test purchasing and accounts payable procedure guidelines. Ability to read, write and speak English. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must have strong negotiating skills.
Responsible for reviewing paid invoices for accuracy of payees and general ledger expensing. Reconcile various related general ledger accounts. Ensure all purchasing and accounts payable functions are completed timely and accurately. Responsible for annual IRS 1099-Misc. reporting ensuring accuracy and compliance. Responsible for the classifying, recording and reporting of all fixed assets and prepaid expenses. Responsible for managing fixed assets purchased but not yet in use, ensuring the timely recording once items are placed in use. Ensure appropriate documentation of all expenses is maintained and accurate. Observe, analyze and document internal controls for all accounts payable functions to mitigate risk and prevent loss. Ensure fair and consistent application of all accounts payable policies and monitors, recommends and implements improvements to processes
Selects, trains and coaches direct reports. Communicates job expectations and monitors performance of direct reports. Understands and periodically performs all functions of direct reports. Ensures the team serves the organization consistently in an accurate, courteous and efficient manner. Maintain the professional standards of the organization.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger keys accurately when using calculator machines or computer keyboards; reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is quiet. Must be able to travel independently to department and branch locations.
