Accounts Payable Representative - Operations Center

If selected for this critical role, you will need to hit the ground running and will be responsible for:

    • Manage the accounts payable process including verifying invoice accuracy, ensuring proper authorizations for payment have been received, ensuring proper general ledger expensing is done and payments made timely.
    • Manage the company credit card process including generation of monthly statements for cardholders, monitoring of policy violations, proper general ledger expensing and timely payment.
    • Process all expense reports and check requests.
    • Establish and maintain a win/win relationship with reoccurring vendors.
    • Reconcile general ledger accounts as assigned.
    • Provide department coverage to support flex schedules and vacations.
    • Perform other accounting functions as assigned.
    • Promote an environment of teamwork within the department and organization as a whole

OVERALL ACCOUNTABILITY:

Manage the accounts payable process including verifying invoice accuracy, ensuring proper authorizations for payment have been received, ensuring proper general ledger expensing is done and payments made timely. Daily reconciliation of incoming corporate ACH transactions. Manage the company credit card process including disbursement of monthly statements to corporate cardholders, monitoring of policy violations, proper general ledger expensing and timely payment.  Process all expense reports and check requests.  Establish and maintain a win/win relationship with reoccurring vendors.  Reconcile general ledger accounts as assigned. Assist with month end closing. Provide department coverage to support flex schedules and vacations.  Perform other accounting functions as assigned.  Promote an environment of teamwork within the department and organization as a whole.

Skill / Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Associates Degree (A.A.) or two years’ experience in Accounting or related field. Experience in Accounts Payable/Receivable required, thorough knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, and financial chart of accounts. Experience with 2 and 3-way PO matching invoices, ensuring that approval authority is in accordance with purchasing policies and review of source documents.  Strong problem solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multitasking skills.  Working knowledge of computers and software applications in Windows required, Excel is preferred. Ability to type 45 wpm.  Ability to perform 10 key by touch accurately.  Ability to reconcile general ledger accounts preferred. Ability to read, write, speak and use proper grammar in English.  Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, correspondence, memos and procedure manuals.  Ability to write business correspondence, write reports and procedure manuals.  Ability to communicate verbally both in person and on the telephone.  Ability to speak effectively to vendors and employees regarding sensitive inquiries or complaints.  Ability to calculate rates, ratios and percentages.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
